Student Tutorials

Tutorials for Student Success

A variety of tutorials are available in the library for all Lamar students to be successful in their coursework. Every student is encouraged to take advanced academic classes in preDP, IBDP, Advanced Placement and Dual Credit to better prepare for college work and tutorials help bridge the gaps to bring success.

  • From 7:00 a.m. to 8:15 a.m., Monday through Fridays, math and English teachers will be in the library to help with any assignments, questions or writing project. A Spanish teacher will be available on Wednesday.
  • After school in the library from 3:45 – 5:45 p.m., Monday through Thursday, math, science, Spanish, social studies and English teachers will help your student. At these tutorials, students can redo assignments that they originally turned in on time but made a grade of D or F. The teacher can explain missed concepts to ensure success when students redo the assignment in the tutorial for an improved grade. Teachers can help with any student questions, but daily assignments can only be completed for a better grade during the after school tutorial time in the library within 3 weeks of the due date.
  • Student led homework assistance by members of the National Honor Society is held Monday through Thursday from 3:45 – 4:15 p.m..
  • Classroom teachers may be available to support instruction with additional tutorials. Ask your teacher for assistance.

The Lamar library is open Monday through Friday mornings at 6:30 a.m. and Monday through Thursday until 6:30 p.m. for students with a Lamar ID attending tutorials and using library services to complete assignments and collaborate on class projects.
